Flux

Work out beforehand what your Flux Events and Calming Events are. Some examples might be:

  • A check is failed (1 flux die)
  • A critical success or fumble is rolled (1 flux die)
  • Inspiration is spent (1 flux die or calm 1 dice)
  • A Short Rest (calm 1 die)
  • A Long Rest (calm all dice)
  • A Character is healed (calm 1 die)

Each time a Flux Event occurs add a Flux Die to the Flux Pool.

A Flux Die is a D6 with two blank sides, a boon, a bane, a +1 and a -1

Whenever a d20 is rolled roll all dice in the Flux Pool and apply their effects.

For each boon rolled the DM describes a thing that happens that is to the party’s advantage that is not directly related to the success or failure of the check being rolled. Players should make suggestions to the DM that the DM may accept if they like them.

For each bane rolled the DM describes a thing that happens that is to the party’s disadvantage that is not directly related to the success or failure of the check being rolled. Players should make suggestions to the DM that the DM may accept if they like them.

Each +1 or -1 rolled should be added to the check being rolled.

When a Calming Event occurs either remove either 1 or all of the dice from the Flux Pool
